1. CTVS

ESSENTIAL

  1. A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in Part II of the third schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in sub section (3) of the Section 13 of the Act.).
  2. A postgraduate qualification i.e. M.Ch Cardiothoracic Surgery of an Indian University/Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India or MCI recognized qualification equivalent thereto for teaching post.
  3. The candidate must be registered with the State Medical Council/MCI.

EXPERIENCE:

1 year teaching and research experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.Ch in case of 2 years M.Ch. However, no additional experience is necessary for the candidates possessing the 3 years recognised degree of M.Ch. or qualification recognised equivalent thereto.

2. Endocrinology

ESSENTIAL

  1. 3. Experimental Medicine and Biotechnology

ESSENTIAL

  1. A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in Part II of third schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in sub section (3) of the Section 13 of the Act.).
  2. A postgraduate qualification i.e. MD in Medicine or DM in Genetics or Immunology of an Indian University/Institute recognized by the Medical Council of an India or MCI recognized qualification equivalent thereto for teaching post.
  3. The candidate must be registered with the State Medical Council/MCI.

EXPERIENCE

3 year teaching and research experience, in a recognized Institution in the relevant field after obtaining the degree of MD. No additional experience in case of DM.

4. Gastroenterology (Neuro)

ESSENTIAL

  1. A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in Part II of the third schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in sub section (3) of the Section 13 of the Act.).
  2. A Postgraduate qualification of an Indian University i.e. DM Gastroenterology or an equivalent degree recognized as such by Medical Council of India.
  3. The candidate must be registered with the State /Central Medical Council.

EXPERIENCE

1 year teaching and research experience in a recognized Institution in the field of Gastroenterology after obtaining the qualifying degree of DM. Note: Candidates with DM degree of 3 years, no experience is required. Desirable: Teaching and/or research experience in the field of Neuro - Gastroenterology and Motility.

5. Gastroenterology (Community)

ESSENTIAL

  1. A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in Part II of the third schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in sub section (3) of the Section 13 of the Act.).
  2. A Postgraduate qualification i.e. MD (Community Medicine/Social & Preventive Medicine) or MD (Medicine/Paediatrics) or DM (Gastroenterology) of an Indian University/Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India or MCI recognized qualification equivalent thereto for a teaching post.
  3. The candidate must be registered with the State /Central Medical Council.

EXPERIENCE

3 years teaching and research experience, in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD . No additional experience after DM Gastroenterology. 1 year teaching and research experience after obtaining the qualifying degree in case of 2 years DM course.

6. General Surgery

7. Hospital Administration

  2. A Postgraduate qualification i.e. MD in Hospital Administration of Indi an University/Institute or MHA of an Indian University/Institute recognized by Medical Council of India or MCI recognized qualification equivalent thereto for a teaching post.
  3. The candidate must be registered with the State Medical Council/MCI. d. MHA of two years should have one year additional experience in Hospital Administration.

EXPERIENCE

3 year teaching and research experience, in a recognized Institution in the subject of Hospital Administration after acquiring the essential qualifications.

8. Internal Medicine

ESSENTIAL

No experience required. Note: 1 year teaching and research experience, after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.Ch in case of 2 years M.Ch course. 12. Nuclear Medicine

ESSENTIAL

  1. 18. Plastic Surgery

20. Renal Transplant Surgery

  2. M.S (General Surgery) or M.Ch (Urology) of an Indian University /Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India or MCI recognized qualification equivalent thereto for teaching post.
  3. The candidate must be registered with the State Medical Council/MCI.

EXPERIENCE

3 years teaching and research experience in the Transplant Surgery after obtaining the qualifying degree of MS (General Surgery). 1 year teaching and research experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.Ch in case of 2 years M.Ch course. However, no additional experience is necessary for the candidates possessing the 3 years recognized degree of M.Ch ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (NON - MEDICAL)

21. Paediatrics (Anthropology)

ESSENTIAL

  1. M.Sc in Anthropology b. Ph.D degree in Human Growth of an Indian University or its equivalent Ph.D. Degree from a foreign University recognized as such by the University Grants Commission.

EXPERIENCE

3 years teaching and research experience in handling longitudinal child growth data after obtaining the Ph.D. Degree.

22. Psychiatry Clinical Psychology (NM)

ESSENTIAL

  1. Master’s degree (regular course recognised by UGC or equivalent) in Psychology and M.Phil in Clinical Psychology (2 years full time course done from a Psychiatry Department/Institute).
  2. Ph.D degree in the concerned discipline/subject of an Indi an University/Institute or its equivalent Ph.D. degree from a foreign University recognized by the University Grants Commission.

EXPERIENCE

03 years teaching and / or research experience in the discipline/subject concerned after obtaining the Ph.D. Degree.

23. CSIC (Biomedical Engg. & Innovation)

ESSENTIAL

  1. Ph.D after obtaining M.Tech/M.E. in Biomedical Engineering.

EXPERIENCE

03 years experience in the field of Biomedical Engineering post – Ph.D. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE : - Experience in any Central Instrumentation facility of a large Institute.

PGI Selection Procedure of Assistant Professors:

  1. The eligible candidates will be called for interview. However, the same would be provisional subject to fulfilment of all requirements failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear for interview.
  2. The candidates applying for the post of Assistant Professor would also be required to make a presentation on his/her work/achievements before the selection committee for a duration not exceeding 05 minutes. The presentation should be prepared in the MICROSOFT POWER POINT and should contain information as per proforma given along with the application form. The candidates are also requested to submit the same in a CD at least one day before the interview in the Recruitment Cell, PGIMER, Chandigarh. No other option like PEN DRIVE etc. will be accepted.
  3. The interview with the Selection Committee is mandatory for which the candidate s would have to appear personally . No request for online interview will be accepted.
  4. The selected candidates will be issued appointment letters. The appointment of selected candidates is subject to his/her being declared medically fit by the PGIMER, Chandigarh.

General Instructions:

  • Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply much before the closing date and should not wait till the last date.
  • The post(s) is/are whole time and private practice of any kind is prohibited.
  • The selected candidates will be governed by the New Pension Scheme as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division) Notification No.5/7/2003 - ECB&PR dated 22.12.2003.
