Salman Rushdie, the Indian-origin Booker Prize winning author has been awarded the prestigious 2015 Mailer Prize for Lifetime Achievement. Laurie Anderson presented the coveted prize to him at a ceremony held at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.

The American literary award was established in 2009, named after renowned American writer Norman Mailer, by The Norman Mailer Center. It is awarded to writer whose work over the years has challenged readers’ perspectives on the world around them.
