Note:

Selection Procedure:

PO Selection Procedure will consist of Written Examination & Interview. The Written Examination will consist of:

I. Objective Tests:

  • General Awareness
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning Ability & English Language

II. Descriptive Test

Final selection will be made on the basis of aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination & Interview and will be strictly according to the merit.

Date of Written Test: Sunday March 22, 2009.

Note: The date of examination is tentative. The exact date will be communicated to the candidates through call letter for examination.

Probation Period:

The newly recruited POs in JMGS-I will have two years Probation period.

Probation Stipend:

During the probation period POs will be paid monthly consolidated stipend as under:

Rs.12000/- per month during the first year of probation ; and

Rs.13000/- per month during the second year of probation.

No other benefit will be offered over and above the monthly consolidated stipend during the period of probation. However, in case, during the period of probation, a Probationary Officer completes Part-I of CAIIB/JAIIB examination, his monthly consolidated stipend will be increased by Rs.750/- per month and for passing Part-II of CAIIB examination during the probation period his monthly consolidated stipend will be increased by another Rs.750/- per month.

Confirmation:

The confirmation of the newly recruited Probationary Officers will be subject to satisfactory completion of two years probation period. On confirmation, such officers will be put in JMGS-I at the beginning of the pay scale. Probationary Officers who will pass Part-I/II of CAIIB examination during the period of probation will be allowed an additional increment in the scale of pay for passing each part of CAIIB examination.

Execution of Bond and Deployment immediately after Recruitment:

Candidates desirous of applying under the proposed recruitment process should be willing to execute a bond for serving the Bank for two years, after selection Further, selected candidates shall be required to serve in rural centres for two years immediately after recruitment followed by minimum one year stint in rural/semi-urban centres.

How To Apply:

Candidates are required to apply on-line through website www.ucobank.com No other means/ mode of applications will be accepted. Follow these steps:

1. Candidate should have a valid email ID.

2. Candidates should have their Demand Draft/Bank Pay Order payable at Mumbai marked “A/c Payee Only” favouring UCO Bank PO Recruitment Project 2008 ready before applying on-line. Without DD details, application will not be registered. The DD should not be dated before 20.12.2008 and not after 19.01.2009. Even if Bank extends the date of on-line registration by one or two days, the valid dates of Demand Drafts will not be changed. Valid dates of DDs also remain the same for far-flung areas.

3. Log on to the Banks website www.ucobank.com

4. Open the Application Format by clicking on the link “Apply On-line”, provide all the necessary information including the details of Demand Draft/Bank Pay Order and click on the “SUBMIT” button at the end of the On-line Application Format.

5. Obtain a system-generated printout of the application in A-4 size paper, firmly paste a recent passport size photograph bearing the signature of the candidate at the appropriate space provided in the application format and sign at the bottom of the application format and send alongwith application fee (i.e. Demand Draft / Bank Pay Order) and attested photocopies of relevant certificate

6. Candidate must write his/ her name, date of birth and address on the reverse side of the Demand Draft/ Bank Pay Order.

7. Print-out complete in all respects should be sent only by ordinary post in a closed envelope superscribed “PRINT OUT FOR THE POST OF PROBATIONARY OFFICERS IN UCO BANK” to the following address:

Call Letters for Written Examination:

All eligible candidates will be issued call letters at the correspondence address given by the candidate in their application, which will be sent by ordinary post. An eligible candidate who does not receive the call letter by March 17, 2009, should contact with details of his/ her name, date of birth and address alongwith the Xerox copy of the system generated application form, details of Demand Draft/Bank Pay Order etc. for obtaining duplicate call letters between March 18, 2009 and March 21, 2009 at the following Bank’s offices:

Qualification:

Minimum 60% marks for Science graduates (55 % for SC/ST/PWD) & 55% for graduates in other streams (50% for SC/ST/PWD) in aggregate from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Government of India.

Note:

1.            Candidates with additional qualifications as MBA, CA, CFA, MCA etc. shall be preferred.

2.            The candidate must possess the requisite educational qualification as on 01.10.2008

3.            Computer Literacy: The basic knowledge in operating computer systems in Windows mode, knowledge of MS-Word/Office, Spread Sheets like MS-Excel and Internet & Email familiarity is an essential qualification which a candidate must either possess before joining the bank services or acquire the same within a period of 6 months of joining the bank, in case the candidate is selected for appointment. For this purpose, the candidate is required to submit a certificate in support of this computer related qualification.

Selection Procedure:

The selection will be on the basis of written test and interview.

All eligible candidates will be called for a written examination which will be both Objective and Descriptive in nature.

Written Test:

Note: The candidates shall be required to qualify in each objective test as per cut-off marks determined on the basis of Group Performance in each test subject to minimum 40% marks (35% in case of SC/ST/OBC/PC candidates) in aggregate out of 200 marks of the objective test. Wrong answers given in the objective test will result in negative marks.

b) Descriptive Test

It will consist of 4 questions out of which the candidates are required to attempt 3 questions only. The test will be of 60 marks (i.e. 20 marks for each question). The minimum passing marks would be 40% for General Category candidates and 35% for SC, ST, OBC and PC candidates. Time duration for the test will be 45 minutes. However, the test will be only qualifying and the marks obtained therein shall not be reckoned for preparing the merit list. The candidates shall have the option to answer the descriptive test either in English or Hindi. Further, the descriptive paper will be evaluated to the extent of around 5 times the number of vacancies based on the merit ranking of the objective test.

Candidates should have a valid email id. This will help him/her in getting call letter/ interview advices etc. by email.

Candidate must ensure that on deposit of fee, the branch issues him a receipt which should invariably mention under-noted items :

(i) Receipt No. (ii) Branch Name (iii) Branch Code No. (iv) Date of deposit and (v) Amount

The payment of fees should be made on or before 3.11.2008. This date will be same for the candidates belonging to far-flung areas.

Applications once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the application fee/ postage once paid shall not be refunded nor shall it be held in reserve for any other examination.

Candidates should keep a copy of the Application Printout and Payment Receipt (Receipt No.) for their record. An ‘Information Handout’ will be sent to the candidates alongwith the call letter for written test. Candidates serving in Government / Quasi Govt. offices, Public Sector Undertakings including Nationalised Banks and Financial Institutions will be required to submit ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the employer at the time of interview, failing which their candidature may not be considered and travelling expenses, if any other admissible, will not be paid. Original payment receipt will have to be submitted with the call letter at the time of written examination.
