paper was challenging.cutoff in no case will go higher than 100.with sectional cutoff of a section or two going below 20, may be around 18.a score above 120 is very good and above 135 is excellent.

  12. Prem said:

Expected cut off eng 15-20, res 12-15, di 10-12 ga 15-18 those who would able to manage 80 marks will get interview call remember sbi is here to recruit

  13. chetan said:

rajesh,,, can u please let know, how can you say the cut-offs so precisely. u have writn - minimum qualifying mark for SBI PO---
    DI--15, Eng--20, reasoning--18, gk--18.
this has given hopes to me as i did badly in DI.
also, can anyone please tell (with surety) whether we need to score 40% in each section of objective test or it will b on percentile only..

    • Sudan said:

      Hey Chethan,

I think we both are on the same boat. I read the information booklet again. Minimum 40% in every section is not mentioned but I am not expecting a very low cut off.. The cut off may be 18 or 19... so it's like touch and go. By the way, do you know how we can get the recent question paper ( 18 April 2010 )from the net.Because if that's possible we can clearly get to know our score and where we stand. Your thoughts on this!

  14. pritam said:

it was first mentioned by bank that there will be only data interpretation but they ask the questions on quantitative aptitude which is misleading candidates

    hi frnds
my attempts are G.A -45, eng-40,DI-35,reasoning -45 with 90% accuracy.i hd attended 165/200.desciptive paper was ok btthe comphrension part was little bit tough for me.i think 4 dis exam descriptive marks will be added to our score.we all knw this an all india level exam and tough competition is there. mere cut off is not enough. only those persons who have scored very high maks will only be called for interview.lets hope 4 d best. all d best!!!!!

  16. riya said:

hi to all and gudluck for result......

according to me ga was balanced i mean some questions were easy and some were tough i have scored approx 35+ and english was ok i've done 35+,but yeah di and reasoning were time consuming....descriptive paper was okie types not much tough but yeah da comprehension para was little bit tough....essay topic- 1)the day everything went wrong
    2) characteristics of economic recession
    3)bank's manufactures of money
4)media moulding the public opinion ....there were two more topics.......
in precis writing para given on inflation......
    best of luck to everyone....

    hi fnds
i hd attended 40 qstns in english, 45 in reasoning, 35 in DI and 45 in Mktng, comp &G.A with 90% accuracy...i had attended 165/200.the descriptive paper was ok. bt comprehensive part was little bit tough for me.i think 4 dis exam descripitive mrks will be added to our total mrk. in all other exams it will be taken only 4 qualifying. so tough competetion is there.me too was not at all confident abt the results. as we all knw that it is an all india exam so inorder to qaulify in the written part mere cut off marks is not enough. only those candiates who secure high marks will be qualified.lets hope 4 d best.

    • rohit verma said:

rest assure you would get call letter. i have attempted 117 question with 90 % accuracy. as DI was a little bit time consuming and GA was tough and there are great no. of seats.
considering all this you have done a great jobnad you might be in merit list.

  18. LOKESH said:

hi.. I think paper was moderate but time consuming.cut off will be 40% in each section.. and not more than 50% overall.

  19. gourav said:

    hello

  21. shivani said:

it was damn hard...............the english portion was tooo hard...and lenthy

  22. rajesh said:

minimum qualifying mark for SBI PO---
    DI--15, Eng--20, reasoning--18, gk--18. You should expect a call if you score a minimum total of 115++.wish u all d best...

  23. sumit said:

yeah paper was quite simple but bit lengthy too. cut off no one can judge

  24. priyanka said:

hi friends , according to me gk section was quite tough, DI was easy but length n rest it was ok. one of the letter topic i would like to include in amit's list is letter to student (suggesting tips )appearing for board exams. all the best to all

  25. saikat said:

for me the paper was a bit tough...in DI i may not get pass marks 40%

  26. Amit Kumar Dixit said:

    Hi...
    my attempts are -
    Reasoning(43)
    English(39)
    G.K(38)
    D.I(36)
i think paper was balanced and di was time consuming ,cut off should be around 125 marks.

  27. ankit jain said:

I think so it was the toughtest PO exam ever ....... Option of DI were very nearby and apporoxmatly so very hard to get on answer by short trick.

    • mahesh said:

      hi guys -
      My attempts were 28 in GK+mar , 30 in maths , 35 in Di , 35 in eng. expecting an accuracy of 85 % at least.total = 108 - (20/4) = 103+ (expected).

ne way guys-the thing is after every exam ppl say that the will score gr8 marks mostly due irrational exuberance. but trust me most ppl score way below than what they actually predict.
i noticed that genral consensus on the thread is 100+.
so by my theory cutoff wud be around 90. also u must consider that scoring 90 with -ve marking, modreate level of difficulty & just 2 hrs time is no mean feat. so guys cheer up !!

    hii sudan!!
from where i can get the answer key to check my answer??

  29. yuju said:

this was my third exam, the exam was well directed for finding out the right person for the job. But, the main problem was time management. i have attempted 30 in english, 30 in reasoning, approx. 40 in GA and 25 in DI. my accuracy is also good. but , i am not much confident about getting interview call despite haing more than 90% accuracy. According to me , one needs to atleast attemt more than 60% question to get a call.
if anybody have different experience and does not comply with my thoughts, he/she is invited to share his/her thoughts.

  30. Harish said:

Don't great expectation!. In my opnion atleast one should score above 25 to have an hope of clearing the sectional cut-offs. Reasoning and DI are time-consuming. GK was okay. English was cream cake. Let left to God's will. Let us sincerely pray that may i will clear SBI PO Exam 2010.

  31. pooja said:

i think the english portion was difficult..in objective as well as in descriptive.

  32. RAVI said:

Sudan... as per ur information u ve scored 110 approx. The cut off in each section is based on the max. score obtained by students. So we cant expect right now. Some times bank may decide the cut off as 10 marks r sometimes 30 marks. So take the chance. If u succeed b happy r not sbi may recruit 5000 POs in July tentatively. Go ahead for that.

    • anamika singh said:

how do u come to know about recruitment in july for sbi...is this for specialist officer....kindly provide more information on this

  33. Amit said:

    hi
    every budy amit here.

as far as sbi po level of ques is conserned it's not so easy but expect avg cut off.Di, reas, eng sections r easy but in gs eco gs is tuff, mark and comp r ok.

    letter's tpoic are
write a letter to ur manger for granting leave for ur family ocassion.
write a letter to editor for concern problem's.
    eassy topic's are
media role to moderate d public opinion.
bank's a money supply of market
    compers section is so tough.
i hope u get it little bit help from this.
so best of luck all of u

The exam was quite easy. GK section was concentrated on financial and sports which is, i feel, good. I started from the paper from last to first ie English, GK, Reasoning and DI. DI was EASY but lots of calculation for each problem required.which was time consuming. my score wont be much different in DI than Sudan above. The essay topics were - Paragraph topics -Features of recession, A day when everything went wrong
Risks of trading in stock market, Role of advertising in moulding customers
Letter topics- Application for leave to the manager for a family function,
Letter to editor commenting on some social issue and our responsbility towards the same.
Passage given for precis was on inflation. had to be written in 150 words. original was almost thrice in length.
I hope this info is useful for all aspirants. I too have given the exam and suffered due to devoting less time to DI. Please be careful my friends and I would suggest to keep atleast 40 min for DI. All the best.

    • rohit said:

hi what could be the cut off marks i have done 35 di/40 reson/35 in eng/38gk

  35. Mukesh said:

HI, SECTIONAL CUTT OFF(40%) IS REQUIRED IN EVERY SECTION. IT HAS BEEN MENTIONED IN THE INFORMATION BROCHURE. ALL THE BEST

    • ronnie said:

      dear Mukesh,
its not 40%.its percentile.there is huge difference between them.

  36. Sudan said:

Hi I've scored 35+ in English , 30+ in reasoning, 25+ in GA but only 19 in DI( 20 right and 2 wrong ). I thought one should get minimum 20 in every section but I find out that it is nowhere mentioned that 20( 40%) must be secured in every section. Can anyone throw some light on this and please guide me if I have a slim outside chance.

    • Ravikumar Kothakota said:

      Hi Sudan,
It is not like we should pass with 40% in every section.
The cutoff is based on number of people attended and number of jobs available and highest marks in each section.
Based on these conditions, cutoff will is decided.
If the exam is tough and most of the people got less than 30% of marks in a section, then the cutoff will be decreased automatically.

    • preethi said:

sorry to say sudan..there is tough competition and i dnt think there will be any chance
