Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in any of the following disciplines:

i) Mechanical

ii) Electrical

iii) Metallurgy

iv) Chemical

v) Electronics & Telecommunications

vi) Instrumentation

vii) Civil

viii) Ceramics

ix) Computer Science

from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 65% marks in aggregate of all years/semesters (50% in aggregate for SC/ST candidates). For Computer Science discipline, those having recognised Master’s Degree in Computer Applications (3-year course) with minimum 65% marks in the aggregate (50% in aggregate for SC/ST candidates) are also eligible.

Age Limit:

30 years (relaxation as per rules)

Written Test:

Eligible candidates will be required to appear for objective type written test in July 2009.

Agartala, Allahabad, Bangalore, Baroda, Bhilai, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Bokaro, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Durgapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Ranchi, Rourkela, Salem, Trichy, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

How to apply:

Eligible and interested candidates would be required to apply online only through SAIL’s website www.sail.co.in (No other means/mode of application shall be accepted)

Candidates would need the following to apply nline

a) Valid e-mail ID.

b) Pay in Slip for Rs. 500/- as examination fee for General and OBC Candidates (Rs.150/- as processing fee for SC/ST& PH candidates). SC/ST & PH candidates are required to submit a self-attested copy of Caste/Disability certificate along with Pay in Slip.

State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the registration fee (examination/processing fee), in a specially opened account (No. 30767176945) at CAG Branch, New Delhi, on behalf of SAIL. Candidate has to approach the nearby SBI branch with a printout of the "pay-in-slip".
