Information & Public Relations Department Punjab invites applications for the recruitment of following posts:

I. Information and Public Relation Officer:

Posts: 11

Qualification:

(i) Should possess Master's Degree in Journalism or Mass Communication or Public Relations and Advertising from a recognized university;

OR

Should possess a degree of Master of Arts in Punjabi or English from a recognized university; and one year Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication or Journalism or Pubiic Relations;

(ii) Should have an experience of working for a minimum period of two years in a Newspapers having circulation of at least 50,000 copies daily, duly certified by the Audit Bureau of Circulation or in a National Television Channel or a Publicity Organisation of a State Government, Government of India or a Public Sector Undertaking; and

(iii) Should have working knowledge of Computer.

II. Assistant Public Relation Officer:

Posts: 21

Qualification & Experience:

(i) Should be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university;

(ii) Should possess a degree or diploma in Journalism or in Mass Communication or in Public Relations and Advertising from a recognized university; and

(iii) Should have an experience of working for a minimum period of two years in a newspaper having circulation of at least 25000 copies daily, duly certified by Audit Bureau of Circulation or in a National Television Channel or in a Publicity Organisation of a State Government, Government of India or a Public Sector Undertaking; and

(iv) Should have working knowledge of Computer.

(v) Should have passed Punjabi upto Matric standard.

Selection Procedure (Written Test Syllabus)

The applicants will have to undergo a common written test for both above categories of posts. The syllabus for the written test is mentioned as under:

1. General knowledge with special emphasis on Punjab. (Multiple choice questions - Both in English and Punjabi language).

2. Drafting of Press notes in English and Punjabi language and translation of one paragraph from English to Punjabi language.

(b) Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribe: Rs.250/-

(c) EXSM (Punjab): NIL

Pay fee in form of a crossed bank draft in favour of Deputy Controller (Finance & Accounts). Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab, payable at Chandigarh. Candidate should write name and address on the back side of bank draft.

Age Limit:

18 to 35 years (as on Jan 01, 2009, relaxation as per rules)
