Punjab Gramin Bank (PGB), a rural bank sponsored by PNB (Punjab National Bank), invites application for the following posts of officers and office assistants.
The posts for officers are open of candidates all over India. However for the posts of Office Assistants the candidates should be a domicile of Punjab. The details are given below.

1. Officer Middle Management Scale – III – Group "A"
Number of Posts: 3 (Gen: 03)
Pay Scale:
Rs. 25700-31500
Educational Qualification:
Degree from a recognized University in any discipline or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree/Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience as an Officer in any Bank or Financial Institutions.
Age Limit:
Below 40 years
2. Officer Middle Management Scale – II – Group “A”
Number of Posts: 12 (SC: 01, OBC: 03, Gen: 08)
Pay Scale & Emoluments:
Rs. 19400-28100
Educational Qualification:
Degree from a recognized University in any discipline or its equivalent
(a) Information Technology (01 vacancy)
Degree from a Recognised University in Electronics/Communication/ Computer Science/ Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, JAVA, VB, VC, OCP etc. is desirable.
Experience:
1 year (Preference will be given to candidates having experience as Officer in banking/financial institutions)
(b) Law Officer (01 vacancy)
Degree from a Recognised University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
Experience:
Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period not less than 2 years.
(c) Treasury Manager (01 vacancy)
Candidate should be a Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a Reputed Institute.
Experience:
1 year (Preference will be given to candidates having relevant experience)
(d) Marketing Officer (02 vacancies)
MBA in Marketing from any Institute of Repute
Experience:
1 year (Preference will be given to candidates having relevant experience)
(e) General Banking Officer (07 vacancies)
Degree from a recognized University in any discipline or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree/Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
Experience:
Two years as an Officer in Bank or Financial Institution.

21 to 32 years
3. Officer Junior Management Scale – I – Group "A"
Number of Posts: 32 (SC: 05, ST: 02, OBC: 08, Gen: 17)
Pay Scale:
Rs. 14500-25700
Educational Qualification:
(i) Bachelor degree of a recognised University in any discipline or its equivalent. Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
(ii) Essential: Proficiency in Local Language i.e. Punjabi and must have passed “Punjabi” as one of the subjects at Matriculation/SSC |(Old Pattern)/Graduation or at equivalent level or any exam passed for proficiency in ‘Punjabi’ from a recognized institution/university.
(iii) Computer knowledge or awareness will be an added qualification.
Age Limit:
18 to 28 years.
4. Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
Number of Posts: 75 (SC: 21, OBC: 16, Gen: 38)
Pay Scale:
Rs. 7200-19300
Educational Qualification:
(i) Bachelor Degree or its equivalent of a recognized University in any discipline;
(ii) Essential: Proficiency in Local Language i.e. Punjabi and must have passed “Punjabi” as one of the subjects at Matriculation/SSC |(Old Pattern)/Graduation or at equivalent level or any exam passed for proficiency in ‘Punjabi’ from a recognized institution/university.
(b) Candidate must be having Domicile of Punjab
(c) Desirable: Knowledge of Computer skills

18 to 28 years

Selection Procedure:
The selection will be made on the basis of performance in written test (70 marks) and interview (30 marks).

The selection of the candidates shall be on the basis of written test and interview.
WRITTEN TEST – 70 Marks:
Type: Objective
Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes
1. Test of Reasoning (50 Qs, 50 Marks)
2. Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation (50 Qs, 50 Marks)
3. Financial Awareness (50 Qs, 50 Marks)
4. General English OR Hindi (50 Qs, 50 Marks)
The marks will be reduced to 70 on pro-rata basis.
POST CODE 03 & 04
The selection of the candidates shall be on the basis of written test and interview.

The marks will be reduced to 70 on pro-rata basis.
Negative Marks:
The wrong answers given in the objective test will result in negative marks.
Interview:
The candidates securing a minimum of 40% marks in the written test shall qualify for interview. In the case of candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PWD/EXS categories, the minimum marks in the written test shall be 35% to qualify for interview.
