POWERGRID, the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of the country and one of the largest and best managed Transmission Utilities in the world, invite applications from energetic and talented candidates for its Western Region Transmission System-I for the posts given below:
1. JUNIOR SUPERVISOR TRAINEE (HR)
Number of Posts: 1 (SC-1)
Pay Scale: Stipend of Rs. 7,300/- per month during training period To be regularised as Jr. Supervisor (HR) (S-1) in the Pay Scale of Rs. 7300-12660 after successful completion of One Year training
Maximum Age (as on 31.12.2008): GEN-27 Years, OBC (NCL)-30Years, SC/ST-32 Years
Qualification: Two year full time PG Diploma in Personnel Management/MSW with Personnel Management as main subject or equivalent from a recognised Institute with minimum 55% marks for General/OBC(NCL) and pass marks for SC/ST/PH
Selection Process: Written Test, Computer Skill Test, Interview
2. DIPLOMA TRAINEE (ELECTRICAL)
Number of Posts: 17 (UR-12, SC-1, ST-1, OBC (NCL)-3)
Pay Scale: Stipend of Rs. 7,300/- per month during training period. To be regularised as Jr. Engineer Gr-IV (S-1) in the Pay Scale of Rs. 7300-12660 after successful completion of One Year training.
Maximum Age (as on 31.12.2008): GEN-27 Years, OBC (NCL)-30Years, SC/ST-32 Years
Qualification: Diploma in Electrical Engineering from recognised Technical Board/ Institute, with minimum 70% marks for General/OBC(NCL) and pass marks for SC/ST/PH.
Selection Process: Written Test, Interview
3. ASSISTANT (FINANCE)
Number of Posts: 6 (UR-4, ST-1, OBC (NCL)-1)
Pay Scale: W-4 Grade in the pay scale of Rs.5400-10350 (IDA)
Maximum Age (as on 31.12.2008): GEN-28 Years, OBC (NCL)-31 Years, SC/ST-33 Years
Qualification: B Com with first 1st division for General/OBC (NCL) candidates and pass marks for SC/ST/PH. Additional qualification of M.Com shall be desirable.
Selection Process: Written Test, Computer Skill Test, Interview
4. UNIOR TECHNICIAN TRAINEE (ELECTRICAL)
Number of Posts: 23 (UR-14, SC-2, ST-3, OBC(NCL)-4, PH (HH)-2)
Pay Scale: Stipend of Rs. 5000/-per month during training period. To be regularised as Jr. Technician (W-3) in the Pay Scale of (Rs.) 5000-9590/- after successful completion of One Year training.
Maximum Age (as on 31.12.2008): GEN-27 Years, OBC (NCL)-30Years, SC/ST-32 Years
Qualification: ITI in Electrician Trade of two years duration from recognised Institute
Selection Process: Written Test, Trade Test and Interview
NOTE:
1. Physically Handicapped candidate shall be given 10 years age relaxation in respective category. Ex- Serviceman having a minimum of six months continuous service is allowed age relaxation to the extent of the period spent in service plus three years subject to the condition that the resultant age after deducing his period of service from his actual age does not exceed the prescribed age limit by more than three years.
2. Pay Scale is Due for upward revision w.e.f. 01.01.2007
EXPERIENCE:
Assistant (Finance): Should have one year post qualification experience in Finance and Accounts function of an organization of repute. Should have experience in processing payment and maintenance of Accounts of the organization. Should have worked on Computers and familiar with various software used in Finance and Accounting function.
TRAINING, SERVICE BOND AND COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
Selected Jr. Supervisor Trainee(HR), Diploma Trainees and Jr. Technician Trainees shall undergo training for a period of one year at POWERGRID Sites and Training Institute. They will be required to execute a service agreement bond (Jr. Supervisor Trainee(HR) and Diploma Trainee: Rs.50,000/- for Gen./OBC(NCL), Rs.25,000/- for SC/ST/PH and for Jr. Technician Trainee:Rs.25,000/- for Gen./OBC(NCL), Rs.12,000/- for SC/ST/PH) to successfully complete the prescribed training period and thereafter serve the organisation for at least three years.

SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from payment of application fee. The candidates can also download application from our website www.powergridindia.com. Attested copies of Caste Certificate, Educational Qualification Certificate, PH Certificate and Ex-serviceman certificate should be enclosed with application, wherever applicable. Instructions:
1. Service is transferable to anywhere in India.
2. Those employed in Govt. Department/PSU should apply through proper channel or submit "No Objection Certificate" at the time of interview.
3. Reservation to the SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PH/XSM candidates will be according to post-based roster as per prevailing cadre strength on applicable percentage.
4.. SC/ST/PH candidates shall be reimbursed Second Class rail/ bus fare by the shortest route for to and fro travel for the purpose of appearing in the test and interview, on production of Railway ticket /Bus ticket for inward journey along with SC/ST/PH certificate which shall be restricted to distance between the address for communication and the Test Centre.
5. Candidates should have sound health. Candidates with myopia and hypermetropia exceeding ± 4.00, need not apply. Squint and colour blindness (partial or full) are disqualification for the post at Sl.No. 2 and 4
6. The application is liable to be rejected if it is not in conformity with given proforma, incomplete, illegible, and unsigned or without requisite certificates & application fee wherever applicable or received after closing date.
