NHPC Recruits Trainee Officers and Engineers

National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC) is hiring for following positions:

Designation / Discipline	Minimum Qualification
Trainee Engineer (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical)	Full time Regular BE / B.Tech in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engg. from recognized Indian University / Institute approved by AICTE, with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade. AMIE are also eligible.
Trainee Officer (Geology)	Full time Regular M.Sc.(Geo.)/ M.Tech. in Applied Geology (should have studied Geology with Maths or Physics at Graduation level), from recognized Indian University / Institute approved by AICTE, with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade.
Trainee Officer (Environment)	Full time Regular BE/B.Tech. (Environment Engineering)/ M.Sc. (Environmental   Science)   from   recognized   Indian   University   / Institute   approved   by   AICTE,   with   minimum   60%   marks   or equivalent grade. Desirable: MSW/MBA (Rural Management)
Trainee Officer (Public Relations)	Full time Regular Post Graduate Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma of two years duration in Communication/ Mass Communication/ Journalism qualification from recognized Indian University / Institute approved by AICTE, with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade.
Trainee Officer (Law)	Full time Regular Graduate Degree in Law (Professional) from recognized Indian University / Institute approved by AICTE, with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade.
Trainee Officer (Human Resource)	Full time Regular Post Graduate Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management (Two years) or MBA with specialization in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations or Master of Social Works from recognized Indian University / Institute approved by AICTE with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade.

Age Limit:

Upper age limit for all above posts is 30 years as on 01.10.2008.

Salary: Rs. 8600 - 14600 (IDA) (E-2) at the basic pay of Rs. 8600/- during one year training. On successful completion of the training period they will be placed as Engineer / Officer in the pay scale of Rs. 10750 - 16750 (IDA) (E-2A) with probation period of one year.

Besides basic pay, candidates will also be paid Industrial Dearness Allowance. Other Allowances and Benefits such as Housing or HRA, Conveyance reimbursement, LTC, Leave encashment, Gratuity, EPF, Group Insurance, Employees' Pension, Medical reimbursement, Children Education Expenditure and News paper / Magazine Allowance and Special Compensatory Allowance etc will be admissible as per company rules in force from time to time.

The pay scales are due for revision with effect from 01.01.2007.

Selection Process:

Eligible candidates will have to appear for written test. List of successful candidates for interview will be made available at www.nhpcindia.com & will also be e-mailed to such candidates. All short listed candidates will have to appear for Personal Interview. The final list of selected candidates being offered "Offer of Appointment" will be made available online.

About Written Test:

Candidates will have choice for appearing in the test in Hindi or English. The test duration will be 3 hours and in three parts i.e.

Part - I

140 multiple-choice questions in the concerned discipline

Part - II

30 multiple-choice questions on General Awareness

Part - III

30 multiple-choice questions on Reasoning.

How to Apply:

Eligible candidates have to apply through online registration system of NHPC only. To apply, visit: www.nhpcindia.com with valid e-mail ID. General and OBC category candidates are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 250/- through Demand Draft only in favour of "NHPC Limited" payable at Faridabad / New Delhi. No other mode of payment would be accepted. Candidates can visit the online registration site from 1300 hours of 27^th Oct. 2008 to midnight of 28^th Nov. 2008.

Steps for applying:

Step-1: Log on to www.nhpcindia.com & click on recruitment.

Step-2: Read all instructions given on the website.

Step-3: Fill the On Line Form with relevant details and submit.

Step-4: Take the print of the registration slip generated by the system in duplicate with Unique Registration Number,

Step-5: Affix passport size photograph on registration slip. The candidate has to send one printout of registration slip duly signed along with required demand draft. The registration number, name, discipline and category should be written at the back of DD. The envelope should be super scribed with Advertisement Number, Post applied for and Category (i.e. GEN / OBC / SC / ST / PH) as the case may be and should be sent by ordinary post (Since postbox does not accept mail through registered post/courier) to:

"Manager (HR), Recruitment Section, NHPC Limited, Post Box No. 364 at Amar Nagar Post Office , Faridabad - 121003 (Haryana)".

The last date of receiving registration slip along with DD by post from candidate is 15.12.2008.
