Asst Commandant (General Duty)

Eligibility:

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline of a recognised university by the Central/ State Government/UGC with Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to 12th Std of 10+2+3 scheme of education

Age Limit:

Born between (01 Jul 85 to 30 Jun 89)

Asst Commandant (General Duty-Pilot-Navigator)

[The Candidates failed in Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) can not apply]

Eligibility:

B.Sc with Mathematics and Physics

Age Limit:

Born between (01 Jul 83 to 30 Jun 91)

Asst Commandant Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Holders

[for Short Service Appointment as Helicopter and Fixed wing pilots for a period of 08 years ,which may be extended to 10 years and may be further extended up to 14 years by the Competent Authority]

Eligibility:

12th class passed or equivalent and should possess current Commercial Pilot License (CPL) on the date of submission of application

Age Limit:

Born between (01 Jul 83 to 30 Jun 91)

Asst Commandant Women (General Duty)

[for Short Service Appointment for period of 08 years , which may be extended to 10 years and may be further extended up to 14 years by the Central Government.]

Eligibility:

Degree of a recognised university with Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate or Class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent

Age Limit:

Born between (01 Jul 85 to 30 Jun 89)

Asst Commandant Technical branch (Mechanical and Electrical)

Eligibility:

(i) Degree in Naval Architecture Male /Marine Mechanical/Electrical/Tele- only Communication & Electronic/Design /Production/Aeronautical/Control Electrical)Engineering or equivalent Qualification, disciplines in any of the above, recognised by All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) or Marine Engineering graduates of IMET Kolkata,

Or

(ii) In Possession of Government of India, Ministry of Surface Transport Certificate of Competency as 1st class Engineer of Motor ship or other similar certificate recognised by the Government,

Or

(iii) Possesses final examination certificate of the College of Marine Engineering under the Department of Surface Transport, Government of India,

Or

(iv) Have passed section ‘A’ & ‘B’ of Institute of Engineers (India) Examination in any of disciplines listed at sl. no. (i).

Age Limit:

Born between (01 Jul 80 to 30 Jun 89)

Selection Procedure

(a) Short-listed candidates will be called for Preliminary Selection test/interview at Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Vishakhapatnam, Chennai, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Port-Blair, Noida(UP). Candidate’s excellence in Academics, Sports and NCC will be given due weightage whilst short-listing the candidates.

(b) The selection process consists of two phases:

(i) Preliminary Selection Boards (PSB)

It consists of General Mental Ability Test (verbal and non verbal) in which the candidates will be tested for:

• General Awareness
• General Intelligence
• Reasoning

(ii) Final Selection Board (FSB)

It consists of

• Psychological Test
• Group Testing
• Interview (Personality Test)

(c)           Selection will be made on the basis of performance of the candidate in FSB. In addition, the candidates can further be tested in order to judge their professional competency (as required) prior to medical examination. Those found medically fit will be placed in the merit list.
