Combined Administrative Services Examination (CASE) - 2009

CSIR is going to conduct an all India Competitive Examination for recruitment to the following posts:

Last Date:

July 15, 2009 (July 22 far-flung areas)

1. Section Officers:

Posts: 43 (Gen: 23, SC: 06, ST: 03, OBC: 11)

Pay Scale: PB-2 Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4800

2. Executive Assistant:

Posts: 90 (Gen: 47, SC: 13, ST: 06, OBC: 24)

Pay Scale: PB-2 Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4200

Essential Qualification (for both Code 1 and 2):

Bachelor degree of a recognised university in any discipline and one year Diploma in Computer.

Age Limit:

28 years (as on July 15, 2009)

Gen: Rs.700

SC/ST/PH/Ex-SM: NIL

Scheme, Pattern and Syllabus for CSIR CASE Examination

I. Preliminary Exam:

Questions (1 Mark Each): 225

Duration: 2 Hrs. 30 min

Syllabus and Topics:

1. Hindi Language Ability
2. English Language Ability
3. General Knowledge
4. Public Administration
5. Computer Science

II. Main Examination

Questions (1 Mark Each): 275

Duration: 3 Hrs

Syllabus and Topics:

1. Constitution of India
2. Analytical reasoning
3. Quantitative ability
4. Public Administration
5. English Language ability

III. Interview/Personality: 50 Marks

Total Marks: 550 Marks

Note 1: Those who have opted for the position of Executive Assistant should qualify a skill  test on computer at the time of interview.

Note 2 : No negative marking is awarded
