Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications :

The candidate should possess the following qualifications as on Oct 31, 2008.

1. Minimum pass class in any of following from (a), (b), (c), (d). (e) from a recognized board or University

(a) Higher Secondary School Exam (HSC)

(b) Standard XII under 10 +2 +3 pattern

(c) Standard 11 under 11+4 pattern

(d) Intermediate Examination

(e) Pre-University Examination.

OR

A Pass Class Degree from a UGC recognized University

Ex-servicemen who do not possess the above Civil Examination qualifications should have passed, while serving in the Armed forces, any of the following examinations recognized by the Government as equivalent of the Civil Examination of HSC / Pre-University, viz.,

(i) IAF Educational Test for promotion to the Rank of Corporal Indian University;

(ii) Passing Out (Indian Navy) Examination conducted by Boys Training Establishment, Visakhapatnam.

(2) A certificate of having completed a foundation course on Computer awareness and Office Automation for duration of minimum 3 months from a Computer Institute is desirable.

(3) Should know to Read, Write & Speak the Language of the State / Union Territory for which he / she applies.

Selection Procedure:

The final selection will be made on the basis of the candidate’s performance in Written objective test of 300 marks and Personal Interview of 100 Marks. The minimum qualifying marks in each objective test shall be 35%. However candidate shall be required to obtain an average of 45% marks in all the objective test taken together.

Probation Period:

The selected candidate will be on Probation for a period of 6 months of active service from the date of his / her joining the Bank.

Objective Test:

Negative Marking:

Wrong answers marked in the objective test will result in negative marks @ one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question. If the total of the negative marks for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off to the nearest integer.

Test at serial no 1 and 2 shall be printed bilingually i.e Hindi & English. Candidate can exercise the option to refer to written examination either in English or Hindi.

Descriptive Test:

Test Contents:

Higher order cognitive abilities to assess Knowledge on current developments and communication skills. 5 compulsory questions with internal options.

Duration: 1 Hour

Marks: 60 minutes

Note: The above Descriptive Test is only a qualifying one not reckoned for merit ranking, i.e. one must obtain a minimum of 45% marks, but the marks so obtained are not added in the aggregate marks for preparing merit list.

Personal Interview:

A Personal Interview of 100 marks shall be conducted to assess the candidates’ academic record, power of expression, clarity of thought, qualities of leadership, extra curricular activities, hobbies, general demeanour, behavior, communication skills, etc. The minimum qualifying marks for the Personal Interview would be 45% marks.

How to Apply:

i) Candidate should have a valid e-mail id. Such e-mail id will be used by us for further communication.

ii) The candidate should apply on-line through website www.bankofindia.co.in only

iii) After applying on-line, the candidates can take a printout of the challan The postal charges are to be paid in Bank of India branch with the above said challan.

Candidates may find out required branch address from website www.bankofindia.co.in under head ‘Our Network’ under option ‘Branch Search’.

iv) After making the payment, the candidates can log in again to update payment details, For re-logging, candidates would need Registration No., Date of Birth and Password. Candidates are requested to note down these details carefully after applying on-line. The last date for updating payment details is 08.01.2009.

v) After updating the valid payment details, the on-line registered application becomes valid.

vi) Only after updating the valid payment details, the candidate would be allowed to take a printout of the already registered on-line application. (Please take printout) This printout along with the challan and required xerox copies of documents duly attested should be submitted at the time of written test at the written test centre.

vii) Please note that the above procedure is the only valid procedure for applying. No other mode of application or incomplete steps would be accepted and such applications would be rejected.

The applicant should sign and affix his photograph on such print out of application. The said application alongwith challan and xerox copies of documents duly attested should be kept ready for submission at the time written test (at the written test centre). Documents to be enclosed are as follows :

  • Copy of receipted challan;
  • Attested copy of School leaving certificate or any other document showing proof of age acceptable to the Bank.
  • Attested copies of Mark sheets / certificates in support of Educational Qualification;

Probation Period:

The newly recruited POs in JMGS-I will have two years Probation period.

Probation Stipend:

During the probation period POs will be paid monthly consolidated stipend as under:

Rs.12000/- per month during the first year of probation ; and

Rs.13000/- per month during the second year of probation.

No other benefit will be offered over and above the monthly consolidated stipend during the period of probation. However, in case, during the period of probation, a Probationary Officer completes Part-I of CAIIB/JAIIB examination, his monthly consolidated stipend will be increased by Rs.750/- per month and for passing Part-II of CAIIB examination during the probation period his monthly consolidated stipend will be increased by another Rs.750/- per month.

Confirmation:

The confirmation of the newly recruited Probationary Officers will be subject to satisfactory completion of two years probation period. On confirmation, such officers will be put in JMGS-I at the beginning of the pay scale. Probationary Officers who will pass Part-I/II of CAIIB examination during the period of probation will be allowed an additional increment in the scale of pay for passing each part of CAIIB examination.

Execution of Bond and Deployment immediately after Recruitment:

Candidates desirous of applying under the proposed recruitment process should be willing to execute a bond for serving the Bank for two years, after selection Further, selected candidates shall be required to serve in rural centres for two years immediately after recruitment followed by minimum one year stint in rural/semi-urban centres.

3. Log on to the Banks website www.ucobank.com

4. Open the Application Format by clicking on the link “Apply On-line”, provide all the necessary information including the details of Demand Draft/Bank Pay Order and click on the “SUBMIT” button at the end of the On-line Application Format.

5. Obtain a system-generated printout of the application in A-4 size paper, firmly paste a recent passport size photograph bearing the signature of the candidate at the appropriate space provided in the application format and sign at the bottom of the application format and send alongwith application fee (i.e. Demand Draft / Bank Pay Order) and attested photocopies of relevant certificate

Assistant Surgeon (Specialty)

Must possess the Post Graduate Degree /Post Graduate Diploma in the concerned Specialties, in addition to the qualifications referred to against (I) & (ii) above.

Provided that in the case of appointment in the Radiological departments of Government Medical Institution in the State, the degree of M.B.B.S. of any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grant shall be the primary qualification and other things being equal, preference shall be given to candidates who hold in addition to the Degree, the Diploma of D.M.R. (Madras);

Provided that other things being equal,

(i) Preference will also be given to those who have put in a minimum service of one year as Medical Officer in a Primary Health Centre in this State.

(ii) Preference will also be given to those who have put in a minimum service of three years as Medical Officer in Government Leprosy Centres and Leprosy Departments in Government Medical Institution in this State.

(iii) Preference will also be given to those who have served as Medical Officer in the grade of Emergency Commissioned Officers, Short Service Commissioned Officers, etc. in the Armed Forces.

Note: If candidates with M.D. (Pathology) are not available, candidates possessing DCP (i.e. Diploma in Clinical Pathology) will be considered for the Post of Assistant Surgeon (Specialty of Pathology).

Selection Procedure:

Selection will be made in two successive stages i.e., (i) Written Examination and (ii) Oral Test in the shape of an interview. Final selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the candidates at the Written Examination and Oral Test taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointments.

Rs. 125/- (Rupees One hundred and twenty five only).

Examination fee should be paid only through any one of the Post Offices listed in Annexure - III to the Information Brochure and the Postal Receipt obtained for the payment of fee should be pasted in the space provided in the application. The Written Test will comprise Objective and Descriptive Papers.

Syllabus for Objective Test:

1. Test of Reasoning: 50 Questions, 60 Marks

2. Test of Numerical Ability: 50 Questions, 80 Marks

3. Test of Clerical Aptitude: 50 Questions, 60 Marks

4. Test of English Language: 50 Questions, 50 Marks (Qualifying Exam)

Time Allotted for Objective Test: 100 minutes

Note: Test of English language and Descriptive paper will be of qualifying nature only and will not be considered for merit listing.

Common Criteria :

i. Wrong answers given in the objective test will result in Negative Marks.

ii. Minimum qualifying marks in each paper for merit ranking shall be decided on group norms.

iii. There will be separate Group norms for SC/ST/OBC and persons with disability (PWD) candidates with relaxed standard. iii. The candidate must obtain minimum 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC and PWD candidates) marks in the qualifying papers to be eligible for merit ranking for the purpose of interview.

iv. Candidate shall have to answer the Descriptive Paper either in English or in Hindi or in the Official Language of the State.

v. Descriptive paper to the extent of 7 times (10 times for SC/ST/OBC and PWD candidates) the number of vacancies only will be evaluated based on the Merit Ranking of the Objective test.

vi. Candidates have to pass in each of the Objective and Descriptive test separately.

vii. Those candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks stipulated for written test

(Descriptive Test as well as Objective Test) shall be called for interview in order of merit in the ratio of upto 1:4 (1:5 in case of SC/ST/OBC and PWD candidates).

viii. The interview will carry 100 marks. Minimum qualifying marks in the interview will be 40% (35% in case of SC/ST/OBC/ and PWD candidates). Marks obtained in interview will be reckoned for merit ranking.

ix. The detailed information regarding the written examination will be given in the “Prepare Yourself booklet which will be sent to the candidates along with the call letter for written examination.

Job description and responsibilities:

(i) Officers in Category Nos.1 to 5 will be responsible for execution of projects/works assigned to them. They will also be responsible for timely completion of projects/works as per construction schedule and cost effective manner.

(ii) Officers in Category Nos.6 to 10 will be responsible for framing, formulating and implementing rules, procedures and policies with due diligence of legal and industrial relations/laws, training and development, human resources management, organizational development, computerization.

(iii) Officers in Category Nos.11 to 15 will be responsible for Institutional Finance, Budgetary Planning & Control, Central Treasury Management, Resources Generation, Control of Accounts, Investment Planning & Management, Auditing Management, Foreign Exchange Regulations, Capital issues, Financial Analysis and reporting. Discounting of Bills, Taxation, Resources Mobilization, Legal & Arbitration, Finance & Costing of Projects, MIS etc.

Probation:

One Year. Upon satisfactory completion of their probation period, they will be confirmed on regular basis, subject to fulfilling other terms & conditions for regular appointments and shall be posted at any of the ongoing projects/ works of NPCC any where in India/abroad (currently in the North Eastern Region).
