PSEB is looking for talented and active young candidates with brilliant academic record to join the organisation on the following posts:

I. Assistant Engineer (on Training):

115 Posts

Pay Scale:

Rs.7750-1450

Age (as on Jan 01, 2009):

20-35 years

Qualification:

BE/ B.Tech./ B.Sc. Engg. or equivalent in respective discipline.

Number of Posts:

1. Electrical: 80 posts

2. Electronics & Communication: 15 posts

3. Mechanical: 15 posts

4. Computer Science: 05 posts

5. Civil: 10 posts

II. Junior Engineer (Electrical):

225 posts

Pay Scale:

Rs.6300-10700

Age (as on Jan 01, 2009):

18-35 years

Qualification:

3/4 year Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 60% or above marks OR

Degree in Electrical Engineering OR

3/4 years Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 5 years experience as Lineman in PSEB. OR

Matric with ITT with experience of 10 years as Line man in PSEB

III. Sub-Station Attendant:

125 posts

Pay Scale:

Rs.4300-7500

Age (as on Jan 01, 2009):

18-35 years

Qualification:

ITI/ Electrical with 50% marks and 2 years apprenticeship training OR

Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 50% marks OR

Diploma in Electronic & communication with 50% marks OR

Diploma in Instrumentation & Process Control with 50% marks.

Knowledge of Punjabi:

Candidate must have passed Punjabi at least up to Matric standard.

Application Fee:

Rs.400/- (Rs.100 for SC/ST) for Assistant Engineer, Rs.200/- (Rs.50/- for SC/ST) for Junior Engineer and Sub Station Attendant in the form of DD favouring Accounts Officer/Cash, PSEB Patiala payable at Patiala.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Eligible candidates will have to under go a written test and the offer of appointment will be made to the successful candidates based on merit in the written test only. The minimum qualifying marks in the written test for General Category candidates is 50% and for Reserve Category candidates is 40%.

About the PSEB Written Test:

The information regarding the written test will be made available on PSEB Web site www.pseb.gov.in from time to time. The written test is tentatively scheduled to be held in the month of April, 2009 at Patiala/Chandigarh. The exact date, time and venue of the written test and information regarding despatch of Admit Cards to the eligible candidates, with guidelines of the test will be made available at least 15 days prior to the date of the test.
