Basic Pay: Rs.4410 - Rs.13210 + DA, HRA, CCA, Conveyance Allowance. Gratuity, Pension, LFC, Medical Aid etc. as per the Industry Level Settlement & Other facilities as per Bank's Rules.

Candidates belonging to reserved category like Persons with Disabilities and Ex-servicemen For which no reservation has been announced, are free to apply for vacancies announced for ST category, however, they must fulfill all the eligibility conditions of ST category.

Note:

The recruitment will be state-wise / union territory-wise as indicated above. A candidate can apply for a vacancy in only one state / union territory and should be willing to be initially posted at any place in that state / Union Territory .

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications :

The candidate should possess the following qualifications as on Oct 31, 2008.

1. Minimum pass class in any of following from (a), (b), (c), (d). (e) from a recognized board or University

(a) Higher Secondary School Exam (HSC)

(b) Standard XII under 10 +2 +3 pattern

(c) Standard 11 under 11+4 pattern

(d) Intermediate Examination

(e) Pre-University Examination.

OR

A Pass Class Degree from a UGC recognized University

Ex-servicemen who do not possess the above Civil Examination qualifications should have passed, while serving in the Armed forces, any of the following examinations recognized by the Government as equivalent of the Civil Examination of HSC / Pre-University, viz.,

(i) IAF Educational Test for promotion to the Rank of Corporal Indian University;

(ii) Passing Out (Indian Navy) Examination conducted by Boys Training Establishment, Visakhapatnam.

(2) A certificate of having completed a foundation course on Computer awareness and Office Automation for duration of minimum 3 months from a Computer Institute is desirable.

(3) Should know to Read, Write & Speak the Language of the State / Union Territory for which he / she applies.

Selection Procedure:

The final selection will be made on the basis of the candidate's performance in Written objective test of 300 marks and Personal Interview of 100 Marks. The minimum qualifying marks in each objective test shall be 35%. However candidate shall be required to obtain an average of 45% marks in all the objective test taken together.

Probation Period:

The selected candidate will be on Probation for a period of 6 months of active service from the date of his / her joining the Bank.

Written Examination / Personal Interview:

Written Examination:

There shall be 2 types of tests, viz. Objective and Descriptive.

Objective Test:

300 marks, 1 ½ Hours

Negative Marking:

Wrong answers marked in the objective test will result in negative marks @ one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question. If the total of the negative marks for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off to the nearest integer.

Test at serial no 1 and 2 shall be printed bilingually i.e Hindi & English. Candidate can exercise the option to refer to written examination either in English or Hindi.

Descriptive Test:

Test Contents:

Higher order cognitive abilities to assess Knowledge on current developments and communication skills. 5 compulsory questions with internal options.

Duration: 1 Hour

Marks: 60 minutes

Note: The above Descriptive Test is only a qualifying one not reckoned for merit ranking, i.e. one must obtain a minimum of 45% marks, but the marks so obtained are not added in the aggregate marks for preparing merit list.

Personal Interview:

A Personal Interview of 100 marks shall be conducted to assess the candidates' academic record, power of expression, clarity of thought, qualities of leadership, extra curricular activities, hobbies, general demeanour, behavior, communication skills, etc. The minimum qualifying marks for the Personal Interview would be 45% marks.

The Written Examination/Test will be held at the Examination Centres indicated below.

Issue of call letters for the written examination:

A candidate who does not receive the Examination Call Letter by 07.02.2009 should contact the concerned Zonal Office of BANK OF INDIA located at the concerned State & Examination Centre he/she has opted for at the addresses given below, with a written application indicating his / her Name, Address, and details of payment made for issue of Duplicate Exam Call Letters.

The Bank reserves the right to prepone / postpone the Written Examination Dates and / or to add to or delete or to modify / change the Examination Centre and the Venues and / or to cancel the Written Examination.

Non-Refundable Postal Charges:

ST / Persons With Disability: Rs. 50.00

Postal charges has to be paid in any of Bank of India Branches by computer generated challan which you will get with specific registration number after filling up application form. Payment in any other mode will not be accepted.

How to Apply:

i) Candidate should have a valid e-mail id. Such e-mail id will be used by us for further communication.

ii) The candidate should apply on-line through website www.bankofindia.co.in only

iii) After applying on-line, the candidates can take a printout of the challan The postal charges are to be paid in Bank of India branch with the above said challan.

Candidates may find out required branch address from website www.bankofindia.co.in under head ‘Our Network' under option ‘Branch Search'.

iv) After making the payment, the candidates can log in again to update payment details, For re-logging, candidates would need Registration No., Date of Birth and Password. Candidates are requested to note down these details carefully after applying on-line. The last date for updating payment details is 08.01.2009.

v) After updating the valid payment details, the on-line registered application becomes valid.

vi) Only after updating the valid payment details, the candidate would be allowed to take a printout of the already registered on-line application. (Please take printout) This printout along with the challan and required xerox copies of documents duly attested should be submitted at the time of written test at the written test centre.

vii) Please note that the above procedure is the only valid procedure for applying. No other mode of application or incomplete steps would be accepted and such applications would be rejected.

The applicant should sign and affix his photograph on such print out of application. The said application alongwith challan and xerox copies of documents duly attested should be kept ready for submission at the time written test (at the written test centre). Documents to be enclosed are as follows :

  • Copy of receipted challan;
  • Attested copy of School leaving certificate or any other document showing proof of age acceptable to the Bank.
  • Attested copies of Mark sheets / certificates in support of Educational Qualification;
  • Attested copy of certificate of Computer Course;
  • Caste / Physically handicapped / any other related certificate as applicable.
