SBI/Associate Banks Recruit 4280 Clerical Staff

Central Recruitment & Promotion Department, State Bank of India, Corporate Centre, Mumbai invites on-line applications from Indian citizens for appointment of following Clerical Cadre posts in Associate Banks of State Bank of India through Bank’s website http://www.sbi.co.in or http://www.statebankofindia.com.

BANK-WISE VACANCY POSITION

SBBJ - State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur

SBH - State Bank of Hyderabad

SBM - State Bank of Mysore

SBIN - State Bank of Indore

SBP - State Bank of Patiala

SBT - State Bank of Travancore

PWD - Persons with Disability

XS - Ex-Servicemen

Candidates can apply for vacancies in one Bank / State only and will have to appear for written test from a centre of that particular state. For example, candidate applying to SBH Bank in Andhra Pradesh State can appear from Andhra Pradesh only.

Vacancies in SBH exist mainly in Telengana region in Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad - Karnataka region in Karnataka and Marathwada region in Maharashtra.

The above vacancies are provisional and vary according to the actual requirement of the respective bank. Merit list will be drawn up Bank-wise / State-wise, Category-wise. PWD & XS vacancies are horizontal reservation and part of SC, ST, OBC or General.

Scale of Pay : 4410-215/3-5055-335/3-6060-470/4-7940-500/3-9440-560/4-11680-970/ 1-12650-560/1-13210

Educational Qualification:

a) Minimum 12th Standard (10+2) or equivalent qualification thereof with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD/XS)

OR

A degree from a recognised university (graduation level) with a minimum of 40% marks (35% for SC/ST/PWD/XS)

Matriculate Ex-Servicemen, who have obtained the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or the Air Force, who have put in not less than 15 years of service in Armed Forces of the Union are also eligible for the post.

b. Should be able to write and speak English fluently.

c. They must be fluent in speaking and writing the Regional Language of the state from which they are selected. Knowledge of other Indian language will be an added qualification.

Age:

a. Age: 18 years to 28 years (as on 31-12-2008.) Candidates born between 01-01-1981 & 31-12-1990 both days inclusive are only eligible to apply. [Relaxation as per Rules]

Probation period: Minimum period of 6 months.

Application Fees:

HOW TO APPLY ONLINE NO OTHER MODE OF APPLICATION / PRINTOUT OR DRAFT ETC. WILL BE ACCEPTED):

1. Go to any branch of State Bank of India and deposit Rs. 250/- (rs. 50/- for sc/st/pwd / xs candidates) and collect the receipt with unique deposit journal number and code number given by the bank.

2. Visit www.sbi.co.in or www.statebankofindia.com enter your personal particulars and give the unique deposit journal number and depositing branch code number in the payment details.

3. After completion the application form you may take printout of the completed application and keep the same along with the cash receipt received from the branch.

Selection Procedure:

a. Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the written test and interview taken together.

The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be printed in bilingual i.e., English & Hindi.

Syllabus:

The written test will be of Objective type consisting of

(i) General Awareness

(ii) General English

(iii) Quantitative Aptitude

(iv) Reasoning Ability

(v) Marketing Aptitude / Computer Knowledge

There will be negative marks for the wrong answers in the Objective tests. Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests.

Minimum Score:

Candidates in the ratio of 3 times the number of vacancies will be called for interview in the order of merit, subject to their having secured at least 40% overall of marks (35% for SC/ST/ PWD/XS) in (i), (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above besides obtaining qualifying marks in each objective type test.

NOTE:

Call letters for written examination:

Candidates will be issued Call Letters at the correspondence address given by them in their on­line application, which will be sent by post.

Those candidates who do not receive call letters latest by February 22, 2009 should contact in person at the address indicated against examination centre opted by the candidate alongwith internet printout application and fee deposit receipt with journal no. No action is possible if contacted after 25th February, 2009.
